This Sangiovese from Pian delle Vigne, produced by one of Tuscany's most established estates, demonstrates the classical restraint characteristic of Antinori. The 1999 vintage, after more than two decades in bottle, reveals layered complexity with mature cherry and plum, fine leather tones, and pronounced mineral structure. The growing conditions that year favoured Sangiovese particularly well, and this balance between acidity and tannin remains evident. A classical red wine at its peak drinking window, though it retains several years of cellaring potential.
