This 2013 vintage from Firriato's Cavanera selection captures the distinctive character of Etna's volcanic terroir through its blend of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio. The wine demonstrates the mineral precision and elegant restraint typical of Sicily's premier red-wine zone, with well-integrated tannins and a saline minerality that speaks to the mountain's ancient lava soils. At fourteen and a half percent alcohol, the wine maintains admirable balance and freshness. Now in its mature phase, it pairs exceptionally well with herb-crusted lamb or aged Pecorino, and will continue to develop gracefully over the coming years.
